“He was honoured for being one of the eminent persons that dedicated their lives to the fight for freedom for mother Zambia in 1959. He attended the UNIP meeting at Mulungushi Rock of Authority in Kabwe to formulate the five points Cha-cha-cha (face the Music) master plan, which was an organized civil disobedience aimed at pressuring the colonial masters to grant independence to the Africans in Northern Rhodesia. He was arrested in August, 1961 and imprisoned for participating in the Cha-cha-cha campaign.”
