He was a veteran politician who initially helped the formation of UNIP. At one time, he held the position of Vice President in UNIP. After independence, he served as Zambia's High Commissioner to Botswana, Provincial Political Secretary for Southern Province and National Guidance District Governor in Lusaka.”
