“Whereby, you served the Zambian Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) from 2008 to 2013 as a pilot. On 3rd May, 2010 the team flew out from Ndola to Luano Valley in Central Province where a team of medical personnel was dispatched to carry out medical outreach activities. On 5th May, 2010 you were at that time a co-pilot who flew back together with the deceased Major Masumba when the pilots were ambushed by three serial killers brothers (Mailoni brothers). After the death of Major Masumba, you courageously decided to fly the aircraft under very difficult circumstances because you were just on attachment. You flew the aircraft with the body of the deceased and other team members who were injured. Your brevity and courage, saved the team and the aircraft from further attacks from the Mailoni brothers, and is indeed worthy of special recognition.”
