“He was honoured for his wisdom as he was on 30th October,1966 calmed down a misunderstanding between a platoon of police Mobile Unit and some public volunteers who were helping to remove petrol drums from the neighboring Caltex Depot menaced by fire. Although the police had manhandled him earlier, councilor Mutale rallied to help maintain Law and Order. His efforts in addressing the crowd in conjunction with police materially assisted in calming passions avoiding violence and restoring the situation.”
