“He was honored for the role he played as an educationist. He held several positions as a teacher including that of Principal of Ndola Secondary Schools 1957-1961 and Principal of Monze Secondary School from 1961-1962. He was a Tutor at Kitwe Training College. He was elected Member of Parliament for Chipata Constituency, In January 1964, he was appointed Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and became Speaker of the National Assembly on 14th December 1964. He became Minister of Education and later rose to the position of Member of the Central Committee (MCC). In 1938, he attended Lubwa Mission School in Chinsali and Munali Training Centre before he studied Law at the University of Zambia in 1978.”
